After his debut release, enthusiastic international critics compared Soren Reiff with guitar icons such as Larry Carlton, John Scofield, George Benson and Joe Satriani.

Reiff, who for many years was Musical Director and guitarist on Danish National TV for stars like Chaka Khan, David Sanborn, Robert Palmer and Randy Crawford, has an impressive line up playing on his new album - musicians who have worked with artists such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton, Whitney Houston and the Rolling Stones. Most of the tracks are recorded in L.A., but mixed and completed in Denmark.

The style is warm and soulful - funky grooves with catchy, melodic themes and chord progressions with roots from the jazz world. Miss You is filled with musical curiosities, played with virtuosity, soul and presence.

Reiff has been busy since his previous release Funky Flavas (which also featured Mike Stern and Michael Ruff). He has composed and produced music for other artists, radio and television, and has written and published no fewer than four books.

Miss You features:

David Garfield: Piano/Keys
David has worked for many years as Musical Director for among others George Benson and Natalie Cole. David was a founding member of Los Lobotomys together with Jeff Porcaro and Steve Lukather, and when the band did some reunion shows and a tour in Scandinavia a couple of years ago,

Soren Reiff played the guitar.

Will Lee: Bass
As part of the David Letterman Show Band, Will is known as a charismatic bassist who always delivers state of the art playing. He has also worked with the Brecker Brothers, Patti Austin, D’Angelo, Steely Dan, Tom Scott and many more.

John Pena: Bass
John has roots in New York and Puerto Rico. He has played with Carlos Santana, The Crusaders, Chick Correa, Steve Vai, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Ricky Martin and Michael McDonald.

Steve Ferrone : Drums
Steve’s career started in the Average White Band. Since then he has worked with Chaka Khan, Jaco Pastorius, Duran Duran, Tom Petty and Eric Clapton.

Ricky Lawson: Drums
Ricky has played with Phil Collins, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, George Duke, Quincy Jones, Steely Dan, Babyface and many more.

Michito Sanchez: Percussion
Michito has played with almost everyone, from rock artists such as the Rolling Stones, Elton John, to contemporary jazz artists like Herbie Hancock and Joe Zawinul, plus soul and R’n’B acts as Aretha Franklin, Eric Benet and Brandy.

Veronica Mortensen: Vocal
Along with Reiff and the American musicians, Danish singer Veronica Mortensen appears on several tracks. Veronica has distinguished herself in recent years internationally and thrilled both audiences and critics. On this album her warm and soft voice is melting naturally with Soren’s guitar tones.

Release date: 20th October 2010

Incredible line-up of musicians--up 'til now I'd never heard of him,and if it wasn't for Bengt and this site,I probably never would have.I'll have to buy the CD.

"Miss You" is a brilliant follow up album to the former album "Funky Flavas" by the Danish great guitar player Mr Soren Reiff who in the later years use to be the axeman of the group Karizma when they're on tour!

This time on the new album is Reiff more in the front showing how great he is on guitar without overworking it all! There's more attitude on this one comparing to his former "Funky Flavas" which also is great but in another way. Nice smooth & laidback  jazz with a hint of funky things in the same vein as maybe giants like George Benson, Paul Jackson Jr & other simular guitar players, real smooth for Your ears & then suddenly he put more power into the guitar solos in ea very great nice way. Listen to the guitar solos at for example the tracks  ”Let’s Cruise” & ”I Can’t Stop” and You will know what i mean! And those featuring musicians! What can I say?! Incredible Groovy!

I can't understand why this CD (or his former CD) has no big distribution! I'm selling it very well in my record shop thou.../Björn (Blue Desert Music, Sweden)

Yes, the show at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival in Summer 2004 was awesome :-)

Excellent follow up to his first one... I would prefer an vocal track with Ligertwood though, as I still live under the impression of that concert i July 2004 in Copenhagen my friend Björn arranged some free tickets for, where he and Garfield, Ferrone, Will Lee and Ligertwood did an unrepeated performence in front of an embarrassingly modest crowd.
Stay tuned!!

I have wonderful memories of the 2 shows I saw you with Karizma 2004 in Copenhagen and with Los Lobotomys in Ahus 2005. I hope to see you again with the cats and can't wait to hear your album. Best wishes....Brunky
