After more than two decades as a successful drummer for some of the biggest names in Danish show business Michael Kratz is now embarking on a solo career.
His debut album “Cross That Line” was released by Sony Music in the Spring of 2012.
“Cross That Line”’s 12 tracks are all based on extremely personal stories from Michael Kratz´ life – not only as a musician but also as a son, a husband and as a father. A musical dairy containing the good as well as the not-so-good memories that makes up Michael Kratz´ life so far.
American AOR/Westcoast – the musical style of the album – is the one nearest and dearest to Michael Kratz. Toto combined with Level 42 a.o. but with a modern twist a la Mark Ronson and John Mayer are all sources of inspiration.
Since becoming a solo artist Michael Kratz´ can no longer be found sitting behind his beloved drums. An electric guitar and a microphone are now his instruments of choice when he performs the songs from “Cross That Line”.
Michael Kratz´ band “The Lonely Soldiers” consist of experienced musicians who have played with acts such as Paul Young, Dalton, Pretty Maids, Thomas Holm, Anna David, Medina, Ivan Pedersen, Into Century a.o.
Denmark is not the only country to embrace “Cross That Line”. The album is getting heavy airplay in Spain and the team behind Michael Kratz´ are currently in negotiations with potential collaborators in Spain, Sweden and Japan to expand on the success of “Cross That Line”.
“Cross That Line” just recently got admitted to “Blue Desert” (www.bluedesert.dk) as one of the very few Danish acts. Blue Desert is one of the largest databases in the world when it comes to Westcoast music.
Michaels second album will be released late 2012.
Besides his soloproject Michael are touring with some of the best Dansih acts, as a session drummer.
